Ten Signs Music Games have Jumped the Shark

Music games take a walk on the weird side

It's OK, music has jumped the shark before. Remember Lou Reed's Honda scooter ad? Or Ringo Star shilling for Sun Country wine coolers? Music games – Guitar Hero, Rock Band and their many imitators – are the latest offenders, with goofy branded merchandise, me-too knockoffs, and plenty of other sins that will make you want to hang up your (fake) axe for good. Read on for 10 prophetic signs that music games have truly jumped the shark.

Well I'll say this much...Wii Music is horrendous. Miyamoto seriously needs to stick w/ Super Mario Universe, and Cammie Dunaway needs to be executed in a live stream on YouTube.

What's wrong with RC Cola? It's not real. It's generic. It's what you drink when you DON'T have a choice. And it's name is "RC Cola". Nuff Sed! End of Discussion!

**** christianity. it doesn't deserve its own classification. you dont see "ZEUS HERO: ROCK OUT WHILE WORSHIPPING YOUR FAVORITE SUPREME GODS!", and a christian game looks just as ridiculous.

I never thought this would happen in just one article. For once, I give you kudos for a job well done. Guitar Praise might have good songs, but they're Christian, and I don't like playing video games with some ugly old guy singing 'Hosana in da Highest'. What I have to disagree on, however is with the actualy guitar players. What the ydon't understand is that these video games give us an 'influence' and a desire to start learning how to play insttuments, or get voice lessons. Because of Rock band, my friend's going to learn how to play drums (and not suck at it), and I'm going to learn how to play the electric guitar. One last thing; RC for the win!

Christian music seriously needs to stay in the church. My family is Christian, so I'm not blatantly bashing the religion or its music or anything. It just sucks. It's shouldn't be for recreational use. It's just bad music. Ugh.

the internets is notoriously lacking in Christian users, expect to hear plenty of christian bashing.
