PSP Needs a Brand New Bag

The iPhone has quickly become the new hotness in portable gaming consoles -- almost by accident. Apple's multimedia phone has a ways to go before it takes on the Nintendo DS, but the Sony PSP, crippled by lagging sales, should watch its back. Even though rumors of the PSP2 have been categorically denied by Sony bigwigs, we compiled a list of features a new PSP needs to have to stay in the game.

PSP is a good machine... once you hack it and apply it for emulators and PS1 ripped games, i think that PSP has a lot of potential and sony or the companies that license games are not taking it at full, i'd love to see a PSP with analog stick, but will the game developers take the lead using it? and by the way, several of the improvements that you propose are peripherals that sold separately or are adaptable (like the keyboard), but yes, an analog stick and a camera to make portable eyetoy games would be nice

This is stupid. The only thing Sony needs to fix about the psp is giving it another analog stick. First person, or even third person shooters are too hard to control with face buttons.

Well, considering the PSP HAS a keyboard attachment, it HAS a camera, and even HAS a GPS unit available, why did these retards put it on here?

I would like to see the PSP reinvented and and succeed from the reinvention. I agree that UMD needs to go but I don't think Sony should get rid of physical media. You have ISP's trippin right now about people dling large files. So I see the battle between ISP's vs Consumer only getting worse. I think Sony needs to look into mini Blu-Rays. I believe we'll get better res. and games could possibly be a bit larger than the umd's. As for the keyboard I don't think it should be a physical kb but a touch screen like the iphone. As far as the camera goes I think it needs to be built in like cell phones and the mic can be a bluetooth headphone. Now for the action buttons I would like to see them as mini touchscreens that is pressure sensitive.

psp is awesome just like it is i love the internet radio, skype, and the location free player to get all that and more for 169 everyone should have one i just wish theyd come out with the gps and camera already
