Is Counter-Strike Really to Blame?
This morning the New York Post splashed its pages with the headline, "COLLEGE KILLER CRAZY FOR VIOLENT VID GAME."
Twenty-seven year old Stephen Kazmierczak, who gunned down five people and wounded 15 at an Illinois university earlier this week was purportedly "obsessed" with the popular online shooter Counter-Strike.

it is not video games that corrupt a person. it is the issues that they already have that intensify with time and eventually snap. video games do not kill people, the people that are messed up kill people
THE MEDIA IS WRONG, THIS KID JUST HAS PROBLEMS. end of story
This is one reason why im afraid to go to the store and buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I might get hit up side the head with a frying pan.
No video games are not to blame here. I am 16 I play BF2 BF2142 BF:Vietnam Halo 3 Counter strike/Counter strike source Call of duty 4 Grand Theft Auto and if you can name a shooter I have played it. I lead a very normal life I am on the varsity swim team for my school I have good grades and I have never thought about killing some one. Games are not to blame for people like this idiot I blame the parents and the child for not having the common knolage of A VIDEO GAME IS A GAME NOT REAL LIFE! I think we should carry around a card that says if we can buy a game that has gore and shooting it it. A new ESRB if you will. You submit your past history and they check on you and if you are a stable person you get a little card that says he/she can buy this kind of game. If your not stable then they give you a card that lets you only buy games that I don't know have no real violence in them like Pokemon. Again don't blame games for idiots like this kid blame him and his parents.
Video games aren't the problem, it's some of those people who don't know fantasy from reality, now THAT's dangerous. Granted that some games like GTA or Mortal Kombat seem to go too far with its animated violence and it tends to affect the player(s) in some way BUT..it shouldn't become the drive for murder. If that's being the case, then we are in DEEP ****! If you're a mentally-disturbed individual, then don't even pick up a controller if you know what's good for you. Simple as that. I play video games sometimes after work and take some aggression out and out my system the anger goes. If that concept is not understood, then things could get really, REALLY ugly.
between 1900 and 1948, unregulated global finance capitalism bottomed out and over 70 million people intentionally killed each other when radical ideologies surfaced to try to stabilize the situation. one of those ideologies was outlawed across the western world (fascism) however, it's counterpart (marxist socialism) was embraced across the world. how much longer must we live under the violent umbrella of socialism? socialism body count in 50 years > car accidents, video games, suicides, religious war, AIDS, cancer body count combined in 50 years you baby boomers killed WAY more people than we have. go **** a landmine.
video games are not bad they help MANYpeople relieve stress..."guns don't kill people, people kill people" this is not even a valid arguement do they even have any actuall evidence that vidoe games cause violence cuz you can test this kinda stuff on lab mice it's b.s nothing more
Well i sure do hope this violence and video games thing stops cuuz wat if they take video games away, that would be bad real bad
ok honestly..these hypocritical ppl need to shut up. its always been about violent vid games and hiphop. please get over yourselves.theres more things to worry about like POVERTY.so stop worrying aobut this **** and get over itt
