25. Prince of Persia (Konami, 1993)

Jordan Mechner's classic action/strategy game came out for several platforms (including the NES and Sega Genesis), but the SNES edition is the best. Prince of Persia features seven new levels (and an extended time limit), along with refined graphics and sound that, at the time, took advantage of the SNES' processing power. Don't bother with the lesser Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame -- it just doesn't stack up in comparison.

Didn't really play most of those but the ones that i did play were not only the best games on SNES but some of the best ever.... but i did notice killer instinct wasn't on there......

very good list. but i think a lil mario allstar power would have fit perfectly. and mario world shouldn't have been number 1# i agree its should have been zelda. but thats just me... good work most_out!

Goos list, just one problem. Wheres Secret of Mana?!? That's one of my favorite rpg's and games of all time. I'd say it definitly makes the top 25 list in my opinion.

oh and by the way i wasnt saying, cause it was a girl it was a bad thing im just saying it was the only real good thing because there werent, and still arent very many games where a girl is the main character I just want to clarify that, is all.

aside from metroid and a few other stinkers this list is quite correct, I wouldnt exactly give mario #1, the game itself was simple, mario is a simple character ... you know like, his backstory and such, he's just a regular plumber, where as characters like Terra, Locke, Chrono, Lucca (im not a squaresoft fanboy srsly) are just harder to get into and require more time, and patience... If you gamed a little but not a lot then this list would be dead on. As for dissing metroid, sorry but, corny, slow, cornycornycorny okay its a girl, still corny = boring.
