kianalbert: i wasn't meaning that they're being racist, that comment was to something someone else had posted, and they dont say that when they're going to describe a white person, they just say it like, ok, this would be like a conversation, "the other day, no offense star, but this white guy came past my house"...part of my point was i dont take offense to being white, nor do i take offense to any other cultures of mine or anybody else. as long as your a good person, i dont care what color you are, lol, but yea, since u put it that way, if i actually did take offense to my friends comments, it would actually be respectful. and no my irish great grandparents were not paid, only sheltered, and my cicilian great grands were not paid the only one to be paid workin in the mines was grand father, and that wasn't till he was already there over 15 yrs. i wasnt asking for pity or anything, before you comment to one specific person on what they've written, go back to when first began writing so you know what their comments are about, i wasn't comparing my ancestors, simply stating.

xxxstarr26xxx. You are right, not all whites are guilty of this, but as a whole you are responsible for creating this problem. Another example: In 2007, studies showed, that Blacks were given higher interest rates in purchasing homes than whites, when their credit scores and debt ratio were the same. How is it that **** like this happens. Is that not an example of racism against blacks is still alive. Is that not considered a disadvantage to blacks? Are we not still suffering from situations like this?

sehusse, back when whites were lynched, most times it was because they robbed a stage coach or some other crime, blacks were lynched simply because of the color of there skin, not anything they did wrong

I love America, but America obviously doens't love me back. The reason why race is such a big issue with whites AND people of color is b/c it IS an issue! Duh. I'm a baby boomer black man that, like many my age, has seen far more racism than most of you (black and white) who play these games will ever see. Yes, racism is still alive. There is still discrimination in the job market, housing, finance, etc. But it's a lot more subtle and not nearly to the degree it once was. The more blatant forms of racism exists within communities, and is across the board. Black people need to quit crying "racism" every time something doesn't go their way. It makes legitimate claims to racism seem shallow because people get desensitized by hearing it over and over. The best way to fight racism is to not give the racists what they want, which is perpetuating the negative stereotype. If your behavior reflects all the negative crap, you give racists what they want -- validation. On the other hand, white people should realize that most black people are normal hard working citizens that are equally disgusted with the negative element of black society and resent being lumped together with that element. I've seen tons of negative portrayals of whites -- mass murderers, white supremacists, child molesters -- but I know that those negative images are not representative of the whole. As someone once said, "We're all more alike than we are diferent." Let's all stop focusing on the differences.

I seriously can't believe video games are an issue of racism now, ridiculous. If you feel that much of a threat, don't play them, and if your so worried about your childs outlook from them, be a real parent, DON'T ALLOW THEM TO PLAY THEM, or make sure they know right from wrong in real life as any normal parent would do. They're are so many video games out there that portray whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, so on and so forth, killing other people of all sorts of "colors", whats the difference what color their skin is? Isn't everyones blood red? I am so tired of hearing racism this racism that, my people went through this, my people went through that, I myself live in Camden, NJ, one of the largest murder rate in the US, and not very many of the black friends I have can name a single ancestor that was actually a slave. I myself, a little white girl living in a black community, can name 5 of my ancestors brought to this country in the name of slavery, my irish great grandmother and greatgreat grandmother, and my cicilian great grandfather, greatgrandmother, and grandfather. but u dont hear me whining and complaining about or expecting everything to be handed to me.I am the furthest thing from being racist, but come on, grow up! the majority of u people posting comments about the blacks being on welfare and what not, u r doing nothing but making urself out to be racist. there are plenty of other races on welfare, killing people, and raping people. watch america's most wanted, i've seen way more white men on there for raping women/molesting children, grow up and open your eyes. there is way to many other things in this world to worry about going on now, rather then dwelling 100's of years in the past, and b****ing about racist video games. This "article" caught my eye while I was logging in for work this morning regarding the video games... As an African American, I have never taken the video games personally. I can't believe some of the comments that are being left by ALL the races on this message board. This is ridiculous! There are a couple of people who are stating very ignorant statements about African Americans (You know who you are...), it is 2008 and you are still making these statements! I work hard for the money that I make, the roof over my son's head, and the clothes on our back. I work full-time and attend college full-time. I am sick and tired of the stereotyping. I am sick of the generalizing of black people and/or women. I'm not on "the system" Nor do I live in public housing or run amock stealing everything I can get my "little black hands on" I carry myself as a dignified American... not only as an African American woman but as an American who, frankly is tired of this battle between the races and the battles between sexes. I don't want someone's hand me downs. I work for it and so can everyone else. Did it ever occur to you that the media has a tendency to portray certain cultures in a negative fashion? Mind you, I don't condone the actions of those who did break the law. What I am saying is that it is more common to see an African American's face plastered on the television for a crime committed more so than a White American. And, what is worse is that because of what is seen on television, it stems the comments that I've seen in this message board. It's awful. No, I don't care for Al Sharpton that much either. Sometimes, there are people who inadvertently benefit from another's suffering or mistreatment. Yea yea yeah, he's a minister and he steps in when there is a racial injustice but all he really does is make a couple of speeches and get some of our blood boiling about the given situation. Jena 6 was awful and I honestly could not believe that there were still cities that carried on like that now. Basically, don't assume the worse of all African Americans because of some of the ignorant things that a small percentage of the African American community decides to participate in. While in the process of divorce from my son's father, I work hard, I take care of my son like a good mother should, I don't steal, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, and I go to school fulltime. So, please don't lump me and the majority of the African American population with the idiots that you keep referring to. Believe me, we aren't proud of them either.

Thank you ,whomever,for reminding everyone that Non-English whites were more discriminated against than anyone in this country at one time.Their response was to become educated and prove themselves,not wallow in self-pity and demand hand-outs.The Irish and Italians were treated like dirt in this country a mere 75 years ago! Not 420 years! And look what they've acclomplished! "Suffering" minorities,these days, really need to get over themselves! All of us have been there and no one is buying it anymore!
