Very humble beginnings
Street Fighter made its arcade debut in 1987. Although crude, it laid the groundwork for the series, introducing gamers to its protagonist, Ryu and his rival, Ken. In the game, players guide Ryu through a tournament spanning five countries. His move list is limited compared to modern day Ryu's, but he is still able to kick some ass, thanks to a fireball, hurricane kick and dragon punch. The game later appeared on NEC's deceased TurboGrafx-CD as Fighting Street, but was recently included in Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2 (PS2 and Xbox) and Capcom Classics Collection Remixed (PSP).
