Grand Theft Auto, Enemy #1?
Politicos and special interest groups have a new favorite fall guy when it comes to explaining US crime and anti-social behavior -- video games. Since Grand Theft Auto IV's release last week, MADD officially condemned the game, Chicago banned GTA IV ads from appearing on city busses, and New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and Presidental candidate Barack Obama both saw fit to make mention of what looks to be the best-selling game of all time. What follows is a series of real-life controversies based on Grand Theft Auto.

this really is retarded. if parents were really decent parents they would either not get this game for their children and pay more attention to what games their child is playing, or they would sit their ****in kid down and explain to the little b*stard that it's all fiction, and you really can get in serious trouble for actin out on such content. blamin a game or music or some other type of media for your negative actions is like sayin that you don't have your hw cuz your dog ate it. take some ****in responsibility. no one put the gun in your hand but you. no one loaded it with bullets and pulled the trigger but you. no one stole the car, or whatever it is your ****in up on but you. BLAME YOURSELF!!! YOU DID IT, ****TARD!!!
ok seriously you shouldnt blame a game for the fact that some of your kids or teenagers are just not capable of handling this stuff or if theyre mentally unstable it makes no friggin sense. Its a rated M game 18^ for Gods sake and it is not for people that cant handle violence and any sexual or dangerous activities thats why its also for mature FOR FRIGGIN PEOPLE THAT CAN HANDLE IT. I honestly think its more of the parents fault then anyone else no one that goes through their life without issue in terms of getting picked on or peer pressure etc. family problems, would actually do something like this, maybe he had some real life issues and so this is the outcome. Correct me if im wrong please but its mainly about self-control when you induce yourself in these types of games.
It is sad that we are at the point in this country that anyone can say oh im crazy or he or the video game made me do it and we believe them. They only use that to get a less of a sentence and or to get away. Grand theft auto is a great game that i you to relieve myself from stress after work but thats it. People need to know where to draw a line. There is no reason to try and ban a video game, if nothing its the parents fault if a child dosent know the difference between a video game and reality.

the problem with gta is that people who are mentaly ill are the people that commit the crimes in the U.S.
You know what game is bad? Mario Brothers. Because of them I thought eating funky mushrooms will make me grow big, and I thought I could fit into sewer pipes. Come on, seriously. MADD needs to suck it. Walmart is only trying to sue so China can make money. And everyone else who is trying to file lawsuits againt GTA. You better NOT be watching the news, or any entertainment television show (CSI, Greys Anatomy, 24, etc) or your a huge hypocrite. Those are all pretty impressionable as well. Don't want your kids to play the game? DON'T BUY IT. Monitor what they do, who they play with, where they go. Not try and blame everyone else when your kid becomes a drug dealer. You know what you should be doing instead of complaining? GO PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS. If people spend half the time they do complaining about this, and spend it with there kids, they wouldn't have to worry about there kids becoming drug dealing killing machines

To many people don't kill folks after playing the game. The defense of music or videogames made me do it is wrong. Also murder if intentional should lead to the death penalty. I know myself and multiple of my friends and family have never killed anyone at any age. If you kill some one your evil. END OF STORY!!!
