It's Lancer versus Splicer, Locust versus Chimera and Marcus Fenix versus Nathan Hale in our GOW 2/Resistance 2 showdown.

Battle of the big bad shooters

This is the best week to own both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, because Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 finally arrive this week. On the 360, Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers chainsaw the Locust Horde to bits, while on the PlayStation 3, Nathan Hale kicks Chimera butt in the good old United States of America. Both games pack in a list of sweet weapons, smart monsters and fun single player/multiplayer campaigns, but only one wins as the blood-spilling champ.

Gears is definately the way to go, i don't know of anyone who even liked Resistance. My friend bought it and it wasn't fun at all. I might just like gears better because i have an xbox, but my friend has a ps3 and thought it was a horrible, and typical war game. Gears has unbelievable graphics, gameplay, and story. Definately go out and buy Gears.

I think both games are good, but I think its because of the Genre they are gives them a certain advantage. IMO they shouldn't be compared. Halo 3 to Resistance 2 would be a better comparison but because of time its not such a good idea. Gears 2 really have nothing to be compared to as of now or I just can't think o*****ame. Any ideas?

Gears of War was actually only better in Two categories:weapons and the m,ain character's personality. One aspect translates to 3 or 4 wins, which seems biased. Sorry, but I don't need any other reason to shoot crap coming at me other than surviving. 1st person shooters usually don't get extensively in-depth.

f4rl3y4dawin - While a 60 man match is awesome and epic, I feel you lose something of the individual in the fight. You kill one guy, there are 29 more to go. The real reason it won in that category is because of horde mode ( which is simply invasion mode from UT2k4 revamped).

both games are badass, i just think it was unfair since one is an fps, and one is a tps, now all we need to know is who would win in a fight, Nathan Hale vs Marcus Fenix rofl

Why is this even a comparison? Gears of war 2 is a third person shooter and Resistance 2 is first person. Both games are played entirely differently. A better comparison would have been between R2 and Left 4 Dead. This article reeks of bias towards 360 even though a few of the comments are valid.

Haggertly, you still come back for this news so either practice what you teach or shut up because you're still reading this along with the rest of us. And I'd like to say to the weak argument of "I have both so I'm not a fanboy", that owning both doesn't get you a "I'm not a Fanboy" Free card. You can have both and still be a fanboy so let's put that to rest ahora mismo. :)

Gamedaily is known to be major Fanboy's of 360, just another reason why gamedaily isn't the place you come to for news and stuff, just trash in my opinion.. on another note i own both xbox360 and the 3, so i am not a fanboy, i am just telling the truth..
