Battle of the big bad shooters
This is the best week to own both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, because Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 finally arrive this week. On the 360, Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers chainsaw the Locust Horde to bits, while on the PlayStation 3, Nathan Hale kicks Chimera butt in the good old United States of America. Both games pack in a list of sweet weapons, smart monsters and fun single player/multiplayer campaigns, but only one wins as the blood-spilling champ.

Wow...this site is prolly owned by microsoft in secret...gears 2 wins just about everything... i mean special edition? Resistance 2 so owns Gears in that...i mean who the f**k wants a picture o*****ame character and his wife? to jack off to it? "oooo Dom i love u!!!" ... i have both Resistance 2 and Gears 2...and Gears does so not win in multiplayer either...R2s got 60 player online for gods sake! and gears... well gears has 5v5.... so theyre both good but in the long run, R2 owns...
To my mind it comes down to one question - does GOW2 have the same brick walls that GOW1 had. Call me a crap gamer if you like but everyone I know with an XBox got stuck on one of those Berserker sections. Luckily I played on PC so was able to bypass them, but those bits really made me curse the developers. I hate those kind of sections in a game when you get to the point of such frustration where you really want 5 minutes with the game developers and a baseball bat...just to improve the game next time of course. Its not my idea of fun at all. The rest of the game was good I thought but I still couldn't understand the amount of hype - it was no Crysis
HEY ****TER BOX FANS! I'm really getting tired of all ur bull**** about how Gears is better than Resistance. Ive played both games and gears fkin sucks major ****. R2s 60 player online matches and 8 plyer coop are so much better than 5v5 so stop ur fkin *****in about Gears just because having a 20v20 would make the piece of **** fkin explode. Gears 2 is giving R2 a fkin blowjob rightnow.
The reviewer seems to be a big fan of the 360. I don't agree with the review as I've played both R2 and GOW2. Both are great games but R2's multi player blows away Gears.
umm, wtf? wut a 360 fanboy site. There is no way Resistance 2 didn't win anything. I'll admit I've never played Gears 2, so I can't judge what's better, but I certainly know that GameDaily has never played Resistance 2, so they can't make assumptions that Gears 2 is superior in every aspect. They obviously made a mistake on the multiplayer. resistance 2 has done things no other console shooter has done b4. 60 player online competitive, absolutely lag free, and ridiculously addictive. plus 8 player coop online, tons of enemies on the screen, and again, no lag. 360 can't do that, but still, gears 2 online is "superior". My point is, I'm not trying to say Gears 2 sucks, but GameDaily is waaaaaaaaaaaay too 360 fanboy to be comparing R2 to Gears 2
Out of curiousity, were the two ties an attempt to hide your bias? Co-op story and horde mode are hardly something new for one thing, Resistance's multiplayer is vastly superior. I'm no one's fanboy and I play whatever game I want, but this is a farce, I'd say the same if it looked like this with Resistance as the winner instead. Also, love the people with "the friend who bought the game and hated it" subtle fanboy game bashing lives on, at least they're on the right site to be 360 fanboys. Just tell me when Gears comes out for my PC, which doesn't have a 25% failure rate and a pending lawsuit over the red ring of death.
wow this is so sad. every single one of these gears wins. and they arn't even good reasons. this site is so 360 fanboy. GOW is not as good as everyone says it is. R2 deserves alot more credit then given. also i agree with some below. u cannot compare a FPS with a TPS. also u can't judge on this site because they are all just a bunch of 360 lovers
ill admit that maybe gears of war 2 is better than resistance 2 but i wouldnt know because i havent played them but really gamedaily is such a freaking fanboy site for the 360 like seriously so many articles in the past few weeks were just about gears of war 2 and why its better than other games like come on like thats not biased i am now going to gladly play some cod4 or rainbow six vegas 2

I think it was kinda un fair to judge the 2. Their both really awesome games but their also very differnet. e****ally the online play, theres a big differnce doing a 5v5 or a 30v30, gears of war is kind of like in depth shooting game where reistance is kind of like a ordinary shooter with a intresting story. What im trying to say is the 2 games are just too differnet to judge side to side because theirs people who like the in depth 5v5 modes, but then theirs theirsoither people who would pefer huge 30v30 war games.
