Best: Resident Evil 5 (Capcom / PS3, Xbox 360)
We're as wary of sequels as the next gamer, but trust us on this one: Resident Evil 5 will kick ass. It looks gorgeous, despite its overuse of bloom lighting, and features zombies, which is a winning formula. Because this generation's hard-hitting consoles power it, you can bet those zombies will be blown apart into the most realistically rendered chunks of infected flesh you've ever seen.
For those who get squeamish when left in a room of undead, you'll have company in the form of lovely newcomer Sheva Alomar, who can handle her own in addition to saving your sorry butt if you're overwhelmed. Sheva can be your co-op buddy via Xbox Live/PlayStation Network, or you can play solo and have the computer take over her actions.
Did we mention there's a gigantic axe-wielding executioner who's after you as well? This game is going to keep you on your feet, and guess what? You'll like it.

to zukezamamee. Ps3 users can send messages while in game. They released it in an update a while back.
omg. i want to slap gamedaily because actually Rock Band and Guitar hero(not that im saying they are bad games because i like them) actually copied Konami's Drummania and Guitar Freak. REdoctane or whoever publishes those games just altered it a little bit and improved it. God i love america; they take other ideas and build on it!
@spectre124 -- while i agree with you on the simplicity of wii music, i think they're targeting the right demographic. Think about it - the people who are buying/playing the Wii are not generally people who would go out of their way to mod a controller, or hook it up to a MIDI keyboard, or what have you. Sure, it's not much o*****ame, persay, but it takes advantage of the Wii in a way that is, for all intents and purposes, "new."
In regards to Wii Music, it's not that hard to make an instrument out of the Wii remote. I did it with a friend of mine for a physical computing class last year. It was fun, but I would hardly consider it a game... or even a toy for that matter. It sounds like what Nintendo did was read some forum on the internet that had instructions on how to turn your controller into a MIDI player. Now they're going to sell it a and make a fortune. It makes me sick.
@disturbedsg1 -- Animal Crossing was a major disappointment at E3. You know why? The graphics were horrible. And the reason we singled out WiiSpeak for criticism is that Nintendo made it sound as if the microphone was going to revolutionize the AC experience. It's not. It's going to introduce a generation of whiny kids to connectivity even earlier. Just because something's a bad idea doesn't mean we're not allowed to talk about it, guys.
All of us saw the avatars and new menu system at E3 and we all agree we like the blades better -- if it ain't broke, why fix it?
I just like the blade version better than the other one. It looks prettier, and if microsoft were smart, they would let you choose as an option. I haven't looked into the new version yet, but who knows.
I'm starting to agree again with Gamedaily because I'm sick and tired of seeing CGI cutscenes and it annoys me that Nintendo seems to be sticking with party games (which are fun but I want a bit more depth). Seriously Nintendo need to do what they did back in the days of the GameCube and produce better games. Party games= shallow
oh and i 2nd that staitment. AOL who ever wrote this dont know wtf they are talking about.
Ok. My best friend is a Nitindo fanboy. He too was pissed That they dropped the bomb this year. and hes preying to god that they are holding out for TGS. oh and this thing dont even know what its talkin about about the new Xbox live. Because they are redoing the Dashboard. The dashboard and Marketplace is seperet and just because they are redoing them, doesnt mean that it will be bad. and in what way does that make a PS3 sound good. they still cant send Personal Msg in game.
