cod4 was definitely best
Personally I think that EA's Skate was the best game of the year. An extremely innovative control scheme attracts skaters and not skaters alike and is one of the first games to utilize a marionette style. Even with the lack of a free running mode, the character models and movements are unparalleled and the thriving yet social XBL venue accents the gameplay perfectly with a variety of multiplayer modes. While games like Halo 3, GH3, and CoD4 are all some of the most memorable games of the year, they lack the originality and innovative quality seen in Skate.
This is just my opinion but my vote for game of the year or "games" is The Orange Box. Portal, half-life, and best of all team fortress are awsome. But CoD 4 is very good to and Halo and the guitar hero and rock band. And i also enjoyed Skate.
i, personally, find Guitar Hero III better than Rock Band... in the guitar part. but, besides that Rock Band actually does beat GH3 hands down.
GUITAR HERO III (3) HANDS DOWN BEST GAME OF THE YEAR.
no doubt about it call of duty 4 hands down!!!!!!!!!
they definitely have number 1 right but number 2 is iffy but rock band is way better than guitar hero 3 the only reason why people like guitar hero 3 is because their too cheap to buy rock band
UM ROCK BAND NO WAY! GUITAR HERO 3 FOR SURE.
Rock band as runner up are you serious? The best music game was guitar hero III. That is a bunch of crap, but atleast they got #1 right. I also think they should include assassins creed, that is a solid game.
the gaming community has become too diverse to have game of the year awards nowadays 90% of the population likes shoot em ups then you have your rpg faction and platforming guys then rythm games and i know the point is to show what games made a big impact on gamers yet when i play CoD 4 i just get another shooter with a realistic setting(at least it was better than Halo 3), Halo 3 is more of the same, Bioshock was good but Super Mario Galaxy just has to be the most far fetched take on platforming in a long while and i haven't played such a unique game in years now im sure you have your reasons for liking your respective franchises but i think its just becoming useless. if games were measured on impact and originality though blizzard wouldnt be a powerhouse of the gaming industry since they just refine formulas(quite well) i just butchered an essay into a paragraph and thats why it looks cluttered
