Obviously the writer of this article really doesn't play much video games unless it is a very simplistic format or reads only blogs for his information. Oh yes, its hip and cool to bash things because bashing is cool, man. Silent Hill will always be at Silent Hill. Much like Munich will always be in Munich because that is what it is and right where it's suppose to be! Not Munich, now in Cambodia! Asking for Silent Hill to be somewhere else that isn't Silent Hill belongs in the ever classic "leet" category of N00B. As for Wii Rock, you have to look at the fact that Nintendo is trying to appeal to everyone, not just the "core" players. Rock Band is awesome but not everyone can afford all the gear for it and soon for Guitar Hero as well. Games are pricey. Wii Rock will be good for those interested in the concept but don't want to blow all their money on a concept they may not like. Konami should have jumped onto the music-games sooner for the American market, though they're not going to suffer with their Japanese market at all. Besides if you go to arcades you'll find Konami will most likely be the common company there, maybe Capcom. Sonic is slowly making a comeback, we won't know if it is good until a demo is out. So far Sonic Team has done well with the DS. Shooters are simply that, there's gonna be those who play them, the concept is fairly simple its just how it's executed is where it can go wrong. You will always have WWII shooter fans, as many as there are it may seem boring but there's one good thing about the entire idea. HISTORY. Its getting some into history, interested in things they may find boring in school. WWII maybe one of the most interesting times in the 20th Century for war, science, and society. If they could make more historical-based games, more power to them. I'd actually like to see a company make a game based on the Lewis and Clark Trail (probably best if done like Hotel Dusk for the DS). Revolutionary War, War of 1812, the Alamo, and even for giggles; the Pig War (check wikipedia, it really happened). However I do agree with the girl-makeup game. It will only appeal, maybe, to the tweenie population but won't draw the numbers unless it read Miley Cyrus or Hanna Montana's make-up frenzy-pink-fashion-explosion. It won't appeal to the older girl-gamers at all, I know because I am one. I like games with story, with depth but also entertainment. You can never really market games for the girl-gamer crowd unless you get a room of us together and keep some of the creepy guys away for that discussion.
Would be too much to ask AOL to hire a video game writer than can give something more intelligent than merely giving his ill-conceived opinion? Someone who who does research like a real journalist does? Or maybe I'm asking too much, bloggers seem to know everything these days, especially those paid for it.

Whoever wrote this needs desperately to be fired...please...unless u want no gamer to ever read anything of urs ever again
Um... apparently these guys didn't do a DAMN bit of research and actual journalism work before posting this. Silent Hill Homecoming is being made by an AMERICAN studio with Konami as a publisher. Also, they completely overhauled the combat system, countrol scheme, and even the camera angles to an over-the-shoulder view ala RE4. Do your homework before posting rediculous stories that are baseless and opinionated, noobs.

IMO, That Sonic RPG might even be as good as people hope...(As I don't see Sonic in an RPG game.) That's not Sonic at all... I KNOW Mario had an RPG and it turned out well... but Mario is about saving a princess from Bowser, with that style you can put Mario in Any Genre... But Sonic is about Collecting rings and Foiling Eggman's plot of Destroying the world... The Chaos Emerald plot was over-used.. and they FINALLY... changed the plot in "Unleashed" a little... But a SONIC RPG is like putting Mario in a FPS... it won't work no matter how they make it..
wow another sonic game?.......ask your self this...what do you do in a sonic game.........RUN THATS IT all you do is run.....plus sonic always has the worst music for it like those two live and learn and the most annyoing ever sonic heros
These guys are way too busy deep throating the Bill Gates to ever look up at a screen to see if games even "looks" like they might suck. Plus, they're really pissed that a quirky game like little big planet looks better than anything they've seen on their 360s.
lulz
Someone has something against Konami. Try and keep your biases a little more subtle.
They beraded the newest Silent Hill? And compared it to Resident evil? As if they weren't enough of a joke. Some games I understood, like Sonic Unleashed (When you turn a hedgehog into a wolf you've officialy ran out of ideas) but Games like Homecoming? The brotherhood (Which may or may not suck) And the subtle insult at Metal gear 4. They're completely biased.
After I read their review of Metal Gear Solid 4 they lost any credibility with me.
