Duke Nukem 3D (3D Realms, PC)
A hit on both the PC and the Sega Saturn, Duke Nukem 3D is one of the most respected, and violent, first person shooters ever. Duke runs through the streets of an apocalyptic city, getting strippers to show off their stuff ("Shake it, baby!") while fighting with pig cops and invading aliens. If Duke's humorous one-liners don't get you hooked, the non-stop action certainly will. "Hail to the king, baby!"

I loved that Duke Nukem! That was the most hilarious in a while. The best blood description I've seen so far, in the games I play, is in mortal combat deception when the characters have a few encouters with grinding walls and spikey floors. Not the most gruesome though. I'd have to see a lot more than that to be amazed with "the gruesome".
the Whole time i was thinking mortal kombat has to be number one this one of the few times they were right
