Today's big Wii news focused heavily on the exact launch date and price, as well as the console's Wii Channel Menu, but news on actual launch day titles was scarce. Aside from Wii Sports, which will come bundled with the system, the only other first-party games that are confirmed for day one release are The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Excite Truck.

That's right; just like the GameCube Nintendo has failed to launch a new system with a Mario title. The much anticipated Metroid Prime 3 is no longer a 2006 release either. Strangely, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was missing in action also. In total, Nintendo said that roughly a couple dozen titles will be available at launch, with 30 games hitting the market by the end of the year. Between launch and the end of next March (quite a huge "launch window"), 41 third-party games from 14 different publishers will be released.

Below is the most current list of U.S. Wii titles, provided by Nintendo (games marked with an asterisk denote confirmed launch titles that we know of so far).
