Video Games Rating PSA Creeps Us Out
May 28, 2009 | By: Robin Yang
Boston's mayor spearheads a new ratings education campaign.
We're all for widespread education about the ESRB's video games rating system -- it'd probably prevent at least some of the angry parent-driven tirades over M-rated games like Grand Theft Auto, but Boston's new PSA campaign leaves us... well, see for yourself.

Looks like a fun game...
The ads, which will run on local Boston radio and television stations as well as public transit hubs, encourage parents to check ratings on the boxes of video games they let their children play. Mayor Thomas M. Menino himself features prominently in both the print advertisements and the
TV spot, and while we admire his no-frills message ("Some video games are for kids. Some aren't.") we can't help but feel a little creeped out by his enthusiasm for playing games with multi-ethnic children.
Is it just us?
